(This photo is the reason why you don't want to accidentally have your camera on foliage setting while indoors. Rather than color correct it in Photoshop I though I'd offer this as a little tip. See who says blog can't be educational?! I guess the other little tip is that you shouldn't have it set to video either unless you want, say, a video. This may seem obvious but I can't tell you how many times I've grabbed my little camera from my purse and by just grabbing it I changed the settings and then after taking the shot that I wanted, I stare befuddled at my camera to see why things are not working as planned only to see that the setting is no longer set for auto as they usually are. Hmmpfff!)

The huge wall of take-you-own legos was GREAT fun and we found many unique pieces that we've never seen in the sets we have. Jessi and Ryan both had so much fun filling up their cups to the brim.

Above is the outrageously priced Star Wars lego set that Mike will NOT be getting for Hanukkah because it's more important to pay down our mortage than to take a loan. But I had to take a picture because I'm sure this would have been on Mike's Hanukkah list when he was younger and didn't look at price tags, as kids are apt to do - they just see the glossy picture on the box and instantly it goes onto their wish list.

Needless to say, we did most of Ryan's Hanukkah shopping right in this little store. YAY! Legos just make me happy. I know they're plastic and all and that's not good for petropolitics and the growing need to get off our oil dependence (yes I'm still reading Hot, Flat, & Crowded if you must know - on track to finish in 2010)... but these allow for so much creativity and hours of amusement that I can't help but love them. Every morning in our house is filled with show-and-tell of what Ryan created before coming down for breakfast, not to mention the group projects that we create together everyday either before Mike goes to work or after we all eat dinner. They bring people together. That's why I love those colorful things!

And here's wishing Grampy (Mike's Dad) a very happy birthday! We hope your day is filled with lots of FUN!

I know my day WILL be! I have a girl's night out planned to catch up with some people that it's been far too long since we've all been together. I met these moms from when Jessi was in preschool and these are some of my favorite people. I see many of them in passing when we bring our younger ones to preschool now at drop-off and pick-up.. but some have older kids so I rarely see them, so tonight will be ours! YAY!
