Bogdan Holoshin is only two years old boy, but during these two years doctors and his parents struggle for his fragile and still such small life. The boy was born with Esophageal atresia
(you can read an article about this illness on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esophageal_atresia). His alimentary tract is shorter, that it’s necessary. Firstly he was operated when he was
only 8 days old. The Duration of that operation was 3 hours. His gullet was not function for a long time and meal to him was injected through a syringe directly in a stomach. When he was 5 months old, he beared the second operation. During that operation doctors tried to increase his gullet and connect it with his stomach. And only when boy was 1 year old, he get an opportunity to eat by himself, without injections of food.
Bogdan was considered a person with childhood disability. Since the first day of his life he was surrounded by doctors, not by friends and relatives. And only smile of his mother makes him laugh.
After the second operation there was a hope, hope to save the boy’s life. Doctors calmed relatives. A gullet will be obligatory function normally. And even nobody will think, that it demanded a great job and joint efforts. But it is necessary not to forget one important condition: “Regularly check the condition of boy’s gullet to confirm the normal work of an internal of digestive system. Medical supervision should pass under anaesthetic”.
The appeared small hope suddenly began to die away. The adjusted digestion and growth of the boy has been interrupted by new complexities. Every day more than twenty times he faints. The boy cannot be left one for one minute. Small Bogdan always dressed in a small helmet to prevent strong headings.
After carrying out of inspection of a brain it was found out, that the boy had a microstroke – a consequence of different operations and regular checking of a condition of a gullet under anaesthetic.
Bogdanu Holoshinu needs necessary operation to pump out a liquid from his brain. It a very difficult operation, which can by done only in Germany, costs 70 thousand dollars. The family of the boy cannot collect such sum. Time is creeping on and with it last hope thaws.
The noncommercial welfare fund “Chizhov’s fund” begins fund raising for Holoshin Bogdan. Age of the boy – 1 year and 11 months.
So, the problem is in the sum: 70 thousand dollars is a very big sum of money in Russia. Today we have only 10 thousand $.
